I often have people ask me about time management, or I often hear people complain about lack of time to do the things they want to do. There are all kinds of books out there, programs out there and tools, either on paper or on your computer, to help you with time management. Unfortunately, those tools are telling you how to do more, not how to do less. Basic time management skills come down to priorities and boundaries, not trying to please others and not trying to do too much. While other people out there will try to sell you a planner, or try to sell you a tool that is technology based, try to tell you in some way to list all the hats you wear, which for me is extremely overwhelming, what I am going to tell you is that time management comes down to four things. In my last blog video I brought up the topic of Meditation just a little bit and I promised I would talk about it later. So it only seemed fair that in this video I tell you a little bit about Meditation, a little bit about the techniques, a little bit about what you can expect and actually what Meditation is. I believe in the simplest form of Meditation. Meditation is free. You don’t need to buy a chant cd. You don’t need any kind of special clothing or any kind of furniture or anything like that. All Meditation is, is sitting somewhere, you can have your palms up, that would be great, just focusing on your normal breathing for about 15 minutes. Most people find the idea of intentionally designing your life intriguing and overwhelming and they don’t know what to do to get started. They went through school, graduated high school, possibly went on to college, felt lucky to get a job, probably changed jobs a couple of times, and then settled into a position that they were comfortable with, and maintained a lifestyle that they got accustomed to and got comfortable with as well. Do You Know Who You Can Count On?

So many individuals and families are in trouble right now. Many have lost their homes, their jobs, and their self esteem. Times seem really tough and many people are very afraid. It is in these times that you really need to know who you can count on. Many are hoping for relief. They are hoping that the government will come up with a plan and help them out of their troubles, after all that is what the government promised. Many are hoping the President of the United States will help them out in some way, that is what he promised. Those in trouble hope for help and keep looking everywhere for a hand up and out of the problems they are facing. For most the help has not come. There are times when circumstances are out of your control, however the person you need to be sure you can count on is yourself. Being self reliant is a great confidence builder. If you rely on your self and know your capablities, you will be less likely to over extend yourself financially and otherwise. What is Happiness

                   To find true happiness you have to know what you want out of life. Most people think if they have wealth they will be happy. There is a reason that there is the old cliché, ‘You can’t buy happiness’, because many find after becoming wealthy that the money and the big ticket items were not what they were looking for, it was an experience they were looking for. They were looking for quality of life.                   What is quality of life? It is different things for different people. That is why it is so important to treat yourself well, and with respect, so you know who you are and what you value most. If you know yourself well, then quality of life is easier for you to define. Can’t Sleep?

Millions of people around the world have sleep issues. Over 80,000 people per day on average google the word sleep looking for solutions to their sleep issues. What they have not done is look to themselves to solve their problem. The solution to any problem in your life is usually a lifestyle choice that needs to be reconsidered. If you are having problems sleeping that usually means that you need to make some decisions about changing your lifestyle. Not many people can go to bed at night and simply fall to sleep. It takes routines for going to bed to get the body and mind to relax and go to sleep. Most people these days pack their lives so full that they want to hurry up and go to bed and get the sleep they need as quickly as possible. Not exactly a  relaxing idea. The first thing you need to do to get a great night’s sleep is allow yourself some time to prepare for it. Your getting ready to sleep routine will take about an hour per night. You might think this is too much time, after all you are so busy, but wouldn’t you get more done  if your mind was fresh and well rested?
