Finding Happiness

We have all seen articles and stories about many people who seem to have it all fumble and in some way self-destruct. We are always surprised because we think the lifestyles of the rich and famous should include some sort of perspective that helped them get to where they are or were in the first place. When it comes down to explaining what happened, the person simply wasn’t happy, no longer knew who they were and got lost chasing what they thought would make them happy, but it didn’t work. Why is happiness so allusive? What creates happiness and once happiness is achieved, what sustains it? This doesn’t have to happen to you because I can give you the keys to happiness right here, and it is relatively simple. There are two main keys to happiness, and it isn’t about buying something new. It also isn’t about a trip to paradise. It is about what you take into consideration when making everyday choices and how you design your everyday lifestyle. Happiness can be long lasting, and while not every day is going to be lived on an emotional...

In my previous blog post and video I talked about the Four D’s of Time Management. They were Delete, Date-out, Deliver and Delegate. I want to expand a little bit about each topic so today we are going to talk about Delete. Delete is kind of like the gift of ‘no’. You are telling people, if you volunteered to do something, someone called you and asked you to do something and your heart is not in it or you found it wasn’t a priority, or for whatever reason you don’t want to do it, you need to call the person and let them know. Now the person is going to be upset, because they don’t want to look for another person to do the thing and they feel put on the spot and left in a lurch. The thing is that when you agree to do something and it isn’t something you really want to do, you won’t do a quality job. You are giving them...

In my last blog video I brought up the topic of Meditation just a little bit and I promised I would talk about it later. So it only seemed fair that in this video I tell you a little bit about Meditation, a little bit about the techniques, a little bit about what you can expect and actually what Meditation is. I believe in the simplest form of Meditation. Meditation is free. You don’t need to buy a chant cd. You don’t need any kind of special clothing or any kind of furniture or anything like that. All Meditation is, is sitting somewhere, you can have your palms up, that would be great, just focusing on your normal breathing for about 15 minutes. The only thing you really need is a floor, and a timer. The timer could be a timer from your kitchen, an egg timer. It doesn’t have to be technical in any way. You can even use the timer on your...
